Cynthia Harmon
Board Member
Cynthia A. Harmon is an educational leader, lifelong learner, and Director of Dana Hall’s Middle School. Throughout her career, she has worked for and with organizations that strive to make the world more equitable and just. Her decades of educational leadership include full-time work as well as serving on boards that support youth development.
For most of her career, Cynthia worked at The Park School in Brookline, MA, where she held a variety of positions, including the Interim Head of School. In addition to her education work, Cynthia was the first Chief Operating Officer of NorthStar Asset Management, Inc., a Boston-based, socially responsible investment management firm that works to align people’s wealth management with their values.
Additionally, Cynthia volunteers her time to organizations whose missions are dedicated to social justice, education, and youth leadership. She has served on the boards of Thompson Island Outward Bound Educational Center and Boston Center for Community and Justice. As a founding Board member of TPZ, she dedicates her time to supporting the efforts to deliver a robust program that engages all participants in imagining what’s possible. Concurrent with her work with TPZ, she serves on the Board of Trustees at the Cambridge School of Weston and Boston Children’s Chorus. A native of Philadelphia, Cynthia has a Bachelor of Music degree and Master degrees in Music (classical voice) and Education (educational leadership), and Opera Performance Diploma.
