Duncan Meyers, Ph.D.
Vice President of Research & Evaluation
Duncan Meyers, Ph.D., helps lead The Possible Zone’s (TPZ) Research & Evaluation Team as the organization continues to collect and use our data for program continuous improvement and learning, while also helping to evolve our approach program evaluation going forward, including an integration of our scaling efforts. He brings a deeply collaborative, thoughtful presence to his cross-team work and will help lead TPZ’s program evaluation and continuous learning strategy, partner closely with Program, Knowledge Management, and Data Science colleagues, translate findings into clear and actionable insights, and help build TPZ’s external thought leadership through reports, publications, presentations, and other field-facing learning.
Duncan brings more than 15 years of experience in applied research, program evaluation, and implementation science. With a background in community psychology, he has research experience with emergency preparedness, obesity prevention, domestic violence prevention, substance abuse prevention, and education research. He spent 12 years at CASEL, a leading non-profit advancing social and emotional learning (SEL) in schools, where he led various research efforts including the CASEL Guide to Evidence-Based SEL Programs, conducting a randomized controlled trial and a nationally representative study of teacher and principal perspectives, and evaluating district-level SEL implementation nationwide. Most recently, Duncan served as Head of Research and Implementation at Everyday Speech, an EdTech startup offering a digital, video-based social skills curriculum. He built the company’s research and evaluation infrastructure, ensured programs were both effective and sustainable in practice, and provided solutions-focused consultation to school district partners of all sizes.
