Janna Cunnion

Educator / Advisor II

Janna Cunnion joined The Possible Zone with a passion for STEM education, bilingualism, and the humanities. After being a volunteer manager for an after-school STEM program in California’s Bay Area, Janna felt the national conversation around STEM education was too narrowly focused on tech skills. After a successful launch of an environmental science program at her school, she later published a paper on climate change education and then worked for Costa Rica’s Ministry of Education, where she designed the country’s first bilingual environmental science curriculum. Janna believes strongly in embedding humanities education into STEM and encouraging students to tackle all facets of real-world problems. In her spare time, Janna loves Latin dancing, painting, traveling, and just about any form of outdoor recreation. Janna holds an Ed.M. in Elementary Education from Boston University and an Ed.M. in International Education Policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Janna will be joining the Harvard MEDscience teaching team this Fall Term, and will bring tremendous depth of experience as a STEM educator.
