October 2022 Newsletter

Hello,

With all of our recent growth and momentum, our team has been reflecting on 10 years of supporting young people in expanding their possibilities for the future.

Since 2012, we have grown from a small organization with big dreams in a 1,000-square-foot facility in Cambridge to a Boston-based nonprofit with our 36,000-square foot Innovation Center. We have served over 1,000 students in that time and aim to expand significantly, using our new space to its fullest potential.

We invite you to read more in our 10-Year Retrospective, Building Bridges to Opportunity, and reflect on everything your support and belief in us has helped make possible.

Even as we reflect on all we’ve done and what we’ve built so far, we are always looking to the future and what’s next! We aim to grow our program, reaching even more students, from more Boston schools, providing more opportunities through our partners, and deepening our connection to our community.

In the meantime, we hope you are having an amazing fall and wish you a safe and happy Halloween!

With gratitude,
The TPZ Team

    TPZ in the Community

TPZ was featured at the Cambridge Science Festival after the team learned about our students’ amazing work over the summer.

Three TPZ students showcased and presented ways they incorporated technology into their fashion designs, from laser cutting to neopixels! Nicole Hicks, a TPZ educator, and Andrea Miranda, from our development team, joined TPZ students at the event.

TPZ Hosts BPS STEM Week Kickoff

TPZ had the honor of hosting the kickoff for Boston Public Schools STEM Week. The week aims to increase family engagement and awareness of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), increase teachers’ confidence in teaching STEM, and to launch year-long STEM programming.

TPZ staff also attended the closing College, Career, and STEM Fair, hosted by Roxbury Community College.
