Dre Woodberry
Director of Family Engagement
Dre serves as a resource to the families of TPZ students. He comes to TPZ with more than 15 years of experience in youth, family, and community engagement, including work with Boston Public Schools, the Boston Public Health Commission, the Yawkey Boys and Girls Club of Roxbury, and the Boston Green Academy. Born and raised in Boston, Dre is a graduate of Boston Day & Evening Academy. Before graduating from BDEA, he was experiencing homelessness, which inspired his capstone project and short film, “What it’s like to be homeless in Massachusetts,” which later won the best youth filmmaker award for the Roxbury Film Festival in 2007. Shortly after, he received the James Baldwin Scholarship at Hampshire College in Amherst, MA. Recently, Dre has worked closely with another Hampshire Alum to create a technology drive for the Omo Child Home in Jinka, Ethiopia. Dre loves art, music, fishing, hiking, technology, and just being different.
