Eliza Petrow, Chief Business Officer, is working across the organization to develop and lead TPZ’s Social Enterprise Strategy. Eliza began her career in the non-profit public health and education spaces where she lived and worked for over a decade in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and China. She held senior roles as a program implementer, grant maker, and Advisor for a number of organizations, including the Izumi Foundation, the JC Flowers Foundation, Mothers2Mothers, and World Education. During this time, she also founded and ran a non-profit in China supporting HIV-positive children orphaned by the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Recognizing the impact that innovation, entrepreneurship, and Venture could have in creating a better world, Eliza brought her experiences and expertise to the investment space: she has served as the Investment Director for Zino Ventures/Kung Ho Fund where she sought out disruptive startups in the edtech, fintech, and ecommerce spaces, and co-Founded Chain Reaction, an angel group that invests in early-stage blockchain/web3 startups. In all her roles, Eliza forged significant partnerships across various corporate, public, private, non-profit and individual stakeholders to amplify the impact of the work. Eliza graduated from Wesleyan University with a B.A. in Chinese History and earned her MSc at the Harvard School of Public Health in the Department of Population and International Health. She enjoys spending time with her family on the central coast of Maine and supporting the work of Refugee Protection International as a Board member. Eliza is an active member of Launchpad Venture Group and values her role as a mentor with VenCapital, an investor accelerator that provides entry-level experience for minorities and women seeking career opportunities in venture finance.
