Erta Hysenbegasi
Vice President of Development
Erta brings 20 years of experience in building businesses, driving transformation, and promoting growth and development in both the non-profit and for-profit sectors. Throughout her career, she has combined her passion for reducing inequities in healthcare and creating economic mobility opportunities for young people with her interest in entrepreneurship. Erta served as Senior Director of Innovation and Strategy at Boston Medical Center where she worked on crafting the health equity strategy for New England’s largest safety net hospital. Prior to that, Erta was the Major Gifts Officer at the Susan G. Komen Foundation where she secured multi-million dollar gifts and helped launch multi-institutional initiatives aimed at improving access to breast cancer treatments for women in underserved areas both in the U.S. and globally. On the entrepreneurship side, Erta has been part of the founding team and has served as Chief Operating Officer at Christie Student Health and as Chief Growth Officer for Christie Campus Health: two healthcare start-ups based in the Boston area focusing on improving access to healthcare and mental health solutions for college and university students. A native of Albania, Erta moved to the U.S. as a teenager and is committed to supporting the work of organizations that provide access to youth mentorship. She has sat on the boards of the Mary Christie Institute, the Institute for Global Leadership at Tufts University, and the Community Endowment of Lexington. Erta holds a B.A. with Honors from Mount Holyoke College. An avid reader, Erta is fluent in five languages and enjoys traveling and learning about new cultures.
