Joanna Sanborn
Senior Director of Post-Secondary Pathways
Joanna Sanborn serves as the Senior Director of Post-Secondary Pathways. She started her education career with Teach For America where she taught special education in Phoenix. As a Peace Corps volunteer, she worked for the Belize Teacher’s College, supporting rural educators as they earned their teacher certifications. After finishing a master’s in International Ed Policy at Harvard, she co-led a NSF funded research project to capture the student voice in school reform, by having graduate students shadow and interview 100 students across various Boston Public Schools. More recently, Joanna founded two college counseling programs, at a rural high school in North Carolina and in Boston, where she mapped out summer programming initiatives, college readiness lessons, and college counseling with students as well as financial aid and decision support for families. Joanna is proud to have supported over 500 students on their college journeys.
