As a Pathways Advisor, Meyling support students who are contemplating college or exploring a career by providing them with the knowledge, skills, resources, and support needed to make an informed decision about their post-secondary plans. The Pathways team provides opportunities to explore, engage, and learn more about different pathways so that students can find confidence in choosing a pathway that meets their needs while allowing them to advance toward financial freedom. Meyling has worked in youth development and community engagement for over 4 years now and spent 2.5 years at the West End House Boys and Girls Club as a teen academic support specialist and a College Pathways Coach. During her time, she learned how to facilitate programming, provide college counseling, create meaningful relationships with youth, and garner connections with local organizations and schools. At Vertex, she worked in the Community Affairs department where she got to manage different partnership relationships, coordinate virtual events, and provide curriculum planning support for their High School Summer Internship. Outside of these jobs, Meyling has worked as a tutor, mentor, and camp counselor.
When Meyling thinks of Entrepreneurship, she envisions someone who is able to bring their many experiences, connections, and resources together to create something. It is having the mindset to think “outside of the box” when coming up with a solution.
In her free time, Meyling enjoys basketball and flag football – is always looking for new leagues to join! She loves television, anime, and sneakers. She is always welcoming of new community and good vibes.
